The Powdermaster granular applicator is purpose built for applying granular additives to a range of different forages. The applicator consists of a rotor delivery unit mounted at the bottom of a high-density plastic hopper. The rotor delivery unit is controlled by Selmech’s Dflow+ digital controller. The additive is then applied to the forage via a gravity fed single 50mm diameter hose or three 25mm diameter PVC pipes. The Powdermaster is suitable for self-propelled and trailed forage harvesters, forage wagons and balers.
Granular additives can be made up of a wide range of carriers and feature all manner of different densities, for example an additive using cornmeal as a carrier will behave very differently to one using crushed limestone. To ensure that the wide range of granular additives are able to be delivered accurately, the Dflow Powdermaster requires the user to add the volumetric weight of the additive being used, this is easily achieved using the 1L measuring jug provided with the applicator. Once the volumetric weight is entered, the applicator will adjust its speed accordingly to ensure reliable and accurate delivery.
In situations where gravity feeding of the additive is not possible or difficult to accommodate Selmech have designed a blower attachment option. This can be easily fitted to the Powdermaster applicator in place of the delivery hoses.
The hopper is manufactured from high density plastic to avoid problems associated with condensation and is available in 50kg capacity option or the lager 80kg capacity (typically 2x 20kg or 3x 20kg bags of additive respectively).
Selmech’s Dflow+ in cab controller has three operating modes to choose from and a range of custom settings to suit the operators’ preferences. A speed sensor on the motor is read by the control box to monitor and automatically adjust the speed of the feed rotor to keep it’s output constant and deliver additive accurately. The hopper also features a low-level sensor, which will alert the user when it is nearly empty.
An applicator stop/start signal from your harvesting machine, if available, can be used by the control box to pause and resume the pump automatically. If your harvesting machine doesn’t have this feature, then there is the option to add a thru beam crop detector to do the same thing.
The Thru-beam crop sensor kit is an optional extra which is used to automatically pause the applicator when no crop is present. The kit consists of a sensor and emitter which are mounted facing each other on either side of the pickup. The emitter sends a red beam of light to the receiver on the opposite side, when this beam is intact it means there is no crop present so the applicator will not run. When the beam is broken by the presence of forage crop, the applicator will resume. This is particularly useful on round balers and baler/wrapper combos which have a lot of stopping and starting. It is of course possible to pause the applicator by pressing a button on the controller each time you want the pump to stop, but with the crop sensor fitted it is all done automatically which is one less thing to think about for the operator
The Powdermaster can be supplied with single or triple outlet tubes.
Powdermaster mounted on a forage wagon normally with a triple outlet.
A blower attachment that can be fitted where gravity feed is not possible.
Powdermaster granular applicator mounted self propelled maze forage harvester.
Used to set additive and harvesting parameters to set the speed of the fluted feed rotor.
